Formed by local volunteers in the late 1990s, Neerim District Landcare Group supports a sustainable, community-led approach to agriculture and environmental land management. Now representing more than 30 members, the group works collaboratively with private landholders to address shared environmental challenges, including pest plant and animal control, waterway improvement, sustainable farming, and local biodiversity protection.

The group promotes knowledge sharing through field days, farm walks, guest speakers, and community events, supporting landholders to actively care for environmental and agricultural assets. Members of Neerim District Landcare Group can access resources including loan equipment for revegetation projects and the Baw Baw Shire Spray Trailer. Driven by local priorities and community stewardship, the group encourages practical, place-based action that benefits both productive farmland and the surrounding natural environment.
