The Bessie/Ararat Creek Landcare Group brings together local landholders from Pakenham Upper, and Nar Nar Goon North to protect native flora and fauna, strengthening ecological connections across the landscape.

The group focuses on practical, hands-on activities such as habitat restoration, weed and pest animal management, and building bio links with neighbouring Landcare groups to connect vegetation corridors and support wildlife movement. Community involvement is central to their approach—members work together on shared projects, build friendships, and encourage the next generation of land carers through intergenerational participation.

With the philosophy “Landcare Is For Everyone” the group fosters collaboration, environmental awareness, and local stewardship, ensuring healthy ecosystems across the Bessie and Ararat Creek catchments.
